John Dwight Bailey Sr.

John Bailey Sr., 89, of Many, Louisiana was born on September 24, 1934, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Madeline( Lottridge) and Roy Edward Bailey. John was a self-employed entrepreneur of many businesses relating to construction. John was the youngest of five children. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2024, at his residence.

John married and later divorced Lavinia Hein. They had four children, Kenneth Dwight Bailey, Lynnette Marie Bailey, Stephanie Kay Ellis (Scott), and John Dwight Bailey Jr.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Madeline and Roy Bailey Sr.; and his son Kenneth Dwight Bailey. He is survived by his children Lynnette Bailey, Stephanie Ellis (Scott), and John Dwight Bailey, Jr. His Grandchildren Caleb Bailey, Amber Bailey Dau, Joshua Hornback, Elizabeth Ellis, Lauren Ellis, Richard Atwood, Riley Bailey, Brooke Bailey, Brianna Bailey and 6 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

Kenneth Deloy Knippers was born on Wednesday, August 13, 1941 in Zwolle, LA. He passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 in Mansfield, LA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Melinda Knippers and his parents, Norris Deloy Knippers and Mandy Marie (Williams) Knippers. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Isgitt of Many, LA; sister-in-law, Sherry Williams and husband, Ray of Belmont, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Leone, Lance Leone, Andrew Newman, Josh Simmons, Parker Leach, and Jacob York.

Rodney Michael “Spot” DeRouen

Rodney DeRouen, 80, passed away in Lake Charles, LA on Friday, March 15, 2024. He was born on July 21, 1943, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Francis and Delta Mae Geoffroy DeRouen.

Rodney worked for South Central Bell for 33 years. He was a faithful Catholic, deeply involved in his faith community, serving in Cursillo #83, A.C.T.S., Knights of Columbus, and as an altar server at St. Terance Mission Church of Toledo Bend until the age of 76. He also trained altar servers and sponsored candidates through the RCIA program. Rodney served on the South Toledo Bend Water District Board for 17 years, holding the record as the longest-standing board member.

Prentice Ray Anderson, Sr. was born on Thursday, June 8, 1939 in Zwolle, LA. He passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 in Shreveport, LA.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Anderson; brother, James B. Anderson and his sister, Etoil DeWitt.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Ann McComic Anderson of Zwolle, LA; son, Prentice Ray Anderson, Jr. of Zwolle, LA; grandchildren, Ashlee Amanda Anderson of Austin, TX and Kaleb Ryan Anderson and wife Grace of Theodore, AL; niece, Marie Bullard of Zwolle, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Benny Sepulvado, 75, of Zwolle, Louisiana was born on July 29, 1948, to Ben Sepulvado and Gracie Mae Sepulvado in Sabine Parish, Louisiana. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 15, 2024, at his residence.

A visitation will be held for him from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and a Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 307 Hammond Street, Zwolle, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 19, 2024, with Father Keith Garvin officiating. Interment will follow in St Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.

Jane LaNell Procell Howell

Jane Howell, 72, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

LaNell, also known to her grandson as Googie, graduated from Zwolle High School. She went on to attend Northwestern State College, where she met Wayne Howell, they were married fifty-three years. They had two children and one grandchild. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in DeRidder, LA. LaNell was also a member of the Choctow-Apache Tribe of Ebarb. She was a large contributor to the organization of the Harper Family Reunion and helped with the Shiloh Cemetery Association. She loved her pets and enjoyed volunteering at the school, but above all she loved her family.

A visitation for Herman Garcie will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. located at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Zwolle. Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zwolle. Officiating the service will be Fr. Timothy Hurd. Interment will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Honoring him as pallbearers per his wishes are his three sons, Ricky, Jerry and Randy Garcie. Also serving as pallbearers are his son in laws Ernie Sepulvado Sr., Kevin Craig and Shea Wilkes. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons: Matt Lovelady (oldest great grandson), Ricky Garcie Jr., Patrick Garcie, Mikey Garcie, Josh Garcie, Cory Garcie, Lance Patrick, Jerry Lynn Garcie Jr., Brett Garcie, Ernie Sepulvado Jr., Brayden Sepulvado, Corey Sepulvado, Dusty Chandler and Carter Chandler.

James Henry “Rabbit” Rodrigues 76, of Many, Louisiana went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 11, 2024, at his residence. He was born on June 3, 1947, in Many, Louisiana to Ernest Rodrigues, Sr. and to Nancy Ann (Remedies) Rodrigues.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and a rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 9891 Texas Highway, Many, Louisiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1130 San Antonio Avenue, Many, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, with Fr. Timothy Hurd officiating and Bro. Joe Henderickson assisting. Interment will follow in Friendship Church Cemetery, 1922 Patton Road, Many, Louisiana.
