Michael Gary Dowden

Michael Dowden, 67, of Baton Rouge, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at 2:37 a.m. at his home. A memorial service was held on May 8, 2020 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge with deacon Reese Wiggins officiating. Interment followed at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, he was cremated.

Michael Dowden was born in Pasadena, Texas on March 31, 1953. Mike graduated from Many High School in 1971. He briefly attended Northwestern State University. He relocated to Baton Rouge and became involved in the industrial metal industry where he progressed to be an international consultant. Michael met the love of his life, Christine Thomas Dowden. They got married on March 17, 1973 at First Methodist Church in Many.

Preceding Michael in death is his parents, Huey Long Dowden and Josie Fay German; brother, Doug Dowden; and sister, Kay Dowden Ashy.

Lyvon Jennings

Lyvon Jennings, 85, of Marksville, was born on Tuesday, June 12, 1934 in Shreveport. He passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020 at Valley View Health Care in Marksville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Angus and Mamie (Ferguson) Jennings; brothers, William Jennings; Kenneth Burnett; sisters, Rachel Emrey; Roma Abel.

He is survived by his brother, Doyle Jennings and wife Barbara of Hineston, Louisiana; nephew, Stanley Walker and wife Belinda of Pleasant Hill; niece, Brenda Goldman and husband Mike of New Orleans; along with a host of other, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A private family graveside was held at Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville, LA.

Joseph Vance Etheridge

Joseph Etheridge, 71, of Zwolle, was born on Wednesday, January 19, 1949 and he passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vance and Victoria (Ezernack) Etheridge; wife, Pamela Troquille Etheridge; brothers, Clifford Etheridge; Herman Etheridge; Tennen Etheridge; Nolan Etheridge; and Keith Etheridge.

Rebecca Elaine Gladden Ellis

Rebecca Ellis, 74, passed away on March 22, 2020 at home in Anacoco.

A memorial service will be streamed online by a Zoom Meeting on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1 p.m. with Patrick J. Sacco officiating.

Interment will be at Self Cemetery in Barham Road, Hornbeck, Louisiana.

Rebecca Elaine Self was born on July 31, 1945 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was baptized May 14, 1955 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She served as a pioneer, a full-time minister, after she graduated from high school. She married Floyd D. Gladden Jr. on March 12, 1966 and raised a family of four children. Floyd died on November 16, 2010.

She married John D. Ellis on August 6, 2014 in Port Arthur, Texas. After Hurricane Harvey they moved to Anacoco, Louisiana where they were active in the Many Louisiana Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Preceding her in death were Floyd D. Gladden Jr. and her parents, Eliot N. Self and Violet Joy Ellis.

Dixie Simpson Ebarb

Mrs. Dixie Catherine (Simpson) Ebarb was born November 22, 1947 in Shreveport to Kenneth Leroy Simpson and Catherine Louise (Danbreun) Simpson and entered into rest on May 6, 2020 at her residence in Many. Graveside services for her were held on May 11, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with Father Joseph Ampatt officiating.

She was raised in Shreveport and married her high school sweetheart, Adron Ebarb, together they had two beautiful children, Jim and Cathy. Dixie has always loved hunting, fishing, working in her yard and helping people. She and Adron moved to Toledo Bend 16 years ago and have made many friends. However due to the Corona Virus restrictions, Dixie’s services will be private and for family only.

Joseph C. Procell

Joseph C. Procell

Joseph Procell was born on Tuesday, March 23, 1920 in Zwolle. He passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Toledo Nursing Center in Zwolle.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma (Grissom) Procell; parents, Jim Procell and Lucia (Martinez) Procell; step-mother, Louvina Procell; and six brothers and five sisters. Mr. Procell served his country in World War II.

He is survived by his son, Lee Patrick Walters of Bennington, Nebraska; and two daughters; sisters, Jane Borden of Noble; Creola Sepulvado of Noble; Leola Blankenship of Alexandria; and Paula Thompson of Shreveport; brother, Paul Procell and wife Linda of Many; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers were Grayson Parrie, Darrell Sepulvado, Jason Ezernack, Jerry Cox and Harold Anderson.

A private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Rufus G. Kelly

Rufus G. Kelly

Rufus Kelly was born in Many to Donald and Pauline Byles Kelly on January 16, 1938. He passed away May 6, 2020. He was 82.

He attended Many High School and graduated in 1956. He worked in the oilfield for a few years and was drafted into the Army. Rufus worked for Trainer Survey in Many and later in Mississippi. Rufus came back and married Neva Duggan Kelly in Florien. He worked at Boise-Cascade, Fisher Plant and retired after thirty-six years. He loved to look for arrowheads, fish and hunt. Rufus liked to listen to LSU and Many Tiger football on the radio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Kelly and Pauline Byles Kelly; son, Vincent Kelly; and his brother, Dallas Kelly.

Karen Anette Geoghagan

Karen Geoghagan was born on Thursday, July 2, 1964 in Morgan City, Louisiana. She passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 in Many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, T. J. Geoghagan and Yceleta Jeanette (Faust) Geoghagan.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Henshaw and husband Joshua of Ft. Polk; son, Nathaniel James Barbee of Concord, North Carolina; sister, Sheila Grappe and husband Freddie of Many; brothers, Adrian Geoghagan and wife Peggy of Mandeville, Louisiana; Terry Geoghagan of Many; and Kelvin Geoghagan of Many; grandchildren, Isabella Holbrook of Ft. Polk; and Jace Henshaw of Ft. Polk; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Ft. Jesup Cemetery.

Ronald D McKee

Ronald McKee, 85, Zwolle, born April 11, 1935 in Oakland, Iowa, entered eternal rest on April 16, 2020. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He served Honorably in the United States Navy.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife, Carmella J McKee; daughter, Michele McKee; and grandson, Timothy J Grant.

Those left behind to cherish his memory, daughter, Melodie M Tuttle; grandsons, Joshua W. Bennie Faust was born on Monday, February 8, 1943 in Robeline. He passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Willis Knighton North in Shreveport.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Elbert Faust and Minnie Jane (Moss) Faust.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Faust of Belmont; sons, Greg Faust of Mansfield; Brandt Faust of Negreet; and Benny Faust, Jr. of Natchitoches; stepdaughters, Tene Leach of Many; Christine Easterwood of Arlington, Texas; and Catherine Hendrickson of Many; stepsons, Paul Quinones of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Jonathan Campbell of Many; sisters, Juanita Schweitzer of Leesville; Sharon Koss of Many; Diana Dupre of New Orleans; and Renee Faust of Many; brothers, Michael Faust of New Llano, Louisiana; and Derek Faust of Sunset, Louisiana; twenty-one grandchildren; four great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
