Staff Sergeant Thomas M. Stoker of Natchitoches and Sabine Parish has received a ARMY coin “For Excellence.” 3rd CORPS Command Sergeants Major Arthur L. Coleman awarded his personal coin to SSG Stoker for his achievements with Force Protection, 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team in Iraq. Army Commanders and Command Sergeants Major use custom made coins to reward soldiers for unique accomplishment. An Army CORP is a fighting unit composed of several divisions. CSM Coleman is the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of that unit with a responsibility for up to ten thousand troops. He is currently the senior enlisted man in Iraq. SSG Stoker is the son of the late Judge and Mrs. Jimmy M. Stoker of Alexandria and the father of John H. Stoker of the NSU Middle Lab School.
